Read-a-thon! April 25, 2011 - May 1, 2011

The Spring's Serenity Read-a-thon is being hosted by The True Book Addict!

Spring's Serenity Read-A-Thon,coming the week of Monday, April 25th through Sunday, May 1st.  The read-a-thon will run from 12:00am Monday through 11:59pm Sunday (adjust your time zones accordingly).   Remember, you can join in any time through the week and read as little or as much as you want.  It's all about personally challenging ourselves and also having fun as a community of readers.

My goal is to read 1 book each day - they will be listed here with links to the reviews!

48 Hour Read-a-Thon!!!

Okay - so I had HUGE hopes for my weekend!  I always seem to forget that life still goes on even if I want to spend my time reading!  I had hoped to read a stack of books - I only got to read a few:

American Vampire by Jennifer Armintrout 

just before the read-a-thon started 

and I read four books over the weekend.

Read - A - Thon - Coming Soon to a Booklover near you!

Book - Savvy is having a Read- a- thon, check it out here.  It goes from 9 am on 8/13 to 9 am on 8/16.

What a great reason to sit home for hours reading and having someone else cook and clean!!!

Once Upon a Read-A-Thon - - Day 3

So, once again I am not reading as much as I wanted to - but I have almost finished both my audiobook, Jester by James Patterson (which meas I have spent entirely too much time in my Jeep) and my second book of the read-a-thon, Passion Unleashed by Larissa Ione.  Hopefully I will be able to finish both of them early this evening (as I am currently about to get back into my Jeep again).  Hope all who are participating in the read-a-thon are enjoying their books - from the blogs I have been reading - it seems as we are!

Once Upon A Read-A-Thon - - Day 2

Okay - so today is day two of the read-a-thon! I awoke and started reading! 

I was able to read Desire Unchained by Larissa Ione 

before I started working on my blog and then was lost in a sea of blog posts!

Now - onto the mini challenges for the day!

Confessions of a Bookaholic wants to know what makes you emotional and what book made you the most emotional - good or bad.

A Blog About Nothing wants to know what book or series you would like to see made into a movie and who you would cast in that movie!

Lauren's Crammed Bookshelf wants us to pick our favorite book, read during this Read-A-Thon, and review it, post the review on her blog and fill out the form to enter the contest!

Mini Challenge Part 1:  Post about your favorite fictional couple and enter to win a copy of Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder!

My favorite fictional couple are Kate and Curran.  I enjoy their rocky, challenging relationship and I love the way he tricked her into being his mate.  Not that I am into tricks, but I like it in a story.  We all look for that truly fascinating and fulfilling love.

Mini Challenge Part 2:  Post about a crossover couple you would love to see and enter to win a copy of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Crossover couple...Val Shapiro from Bite Me and Try Me and Tunstell from Gail Carriger's Soulless.

Val is so tough and Tunstell is so sweet, but tough enough to be with someone like her.

Jenn at Book Crazy asked us to:

What I want you to do, since I am a lover of all things music and photo related is to pick one - or both - and put them together!!

Does that make sense? HMM, lets see if I can explain better, basically pick your favorite book and/or character and pair it with a song and/or photo that reminds you of the person or setting in the book!

I have so many books that I love - but if I have to choose one, and apparently I do, I will choose one that hasn't been made into a movie and therefore the people are still in my own head.  I am choosing: Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher by Bruce Coville.
