Blogs and Books!

Good gravy!  I have just realized that I am spending more time than I planned just reading other people's blogs!  I love all the revews and book ideas, as well as the contests and information!  But, I find that I am not having as much reading time as before!  Anyone else running into this?  Let me know!  I am hoping to catch up all my reading challenges this weekend - I have finished a number of books and not added them to my posts.  I also will post as many reviews as I can for the books I have finished!  Heartless is the last book I finished!

I certainly recognize this! I spent a lot of my Friday evening hopping around people's blogs. Then I remembered I was planning to finish my book....

Thank you for stopping by at my blog! :) Always enjoy visits! I know what you mean with a lot of blogging and not a lot of reading. But tommorow I will start reading again. :)

Yes, reading other blogs is so much fun, but so time consuming indeed. If I miss reading some I feel like I may have missed some wonderful posts too.

I hear you!

I'm either spending too much time on Facebook, Twitter, Book Blogs, Get Glue, and other blogs via my Google Reader...or I feel like I'm completely out of touch on my own little island with 400 new posts piling up in my reader, and unanswered comments all over the place.

When I find a balance, I'll be sure to share my secrets. In the meantime, walk away from the computer and pick up your book! :)

Thanks for stopping by Alison's Book Marks!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I agree with you...now that I'm following more and more blogs I need to carve out more time for reading fiction. But it's well worth it!

No doubt about it. Time management can become an issue. Lots of interesting books and lots of interesting blogs out there make for an interesting balancing act.

YES! I've been spending a TON of time reading blogs lately, too! LOL But, I know that when I finally start reading a book that captivates me (rather than the self-help book I'm currently reading), I'll forsake all other reading mistresses ...

Thanks for visiting Proud Book Nerd. I'm now following you! :-)

Yeah, you can kind of get sucked in. I have a slew of blogs on my Google feed but really, I just come the list I have in my own sidebar and if I see something that interests me, I'll read it. Otherwise I just don't have the time. I don't think anyone expects you to read absolutely everything and if you don't put your foot down, that's all you'll be doing.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I know exactly what you mean. Friday I spent more time on maintaining my blog than actually reading. I can easily get lost in time reading someone else's.

Good gravy! (Is that something you already said or are you an Amazing Race cowboy fan?) Thanks for stopping by my blog, and yes, balancing blog reading a book reading can be quite tricky! :)

It can certainly get out of control!

I know EXACTLY what you mean! I sometimes find myself reading too many blogs or spending too much time posting on my own, and then I don't have as much time to read. I have tried to cut back on the blogs that I follow to only follow the ones that have similar reading tastes as me--but even that is sometimes too much!

I've started to spend way too much time on the internet reading blogs (this being an example) I'll get back into reading soon...

Hooray, Bev! Look at you! Over 100 followers. I know what you mean about reading blogs sucking into reading time. I started on the computer at 8 this morning. It is now 11:25. I haven't read a word in a book yet. I did finish a review and do a survey too though. Now it is time to quit reading other people's blogs and read some books.

I rarely have time to read blogs. Juggling school and reviews gets to be a bit too much with reading time - and I make an effort to finish a book a day so I can keep on schedule. But, I know if I did read a million blogs like I wish I could, then I would be so in the hole reading wise.

By the way - hopping over from The Hop! Love your blog. :)

Ditto what Donna said! You just have to be a little picky for the sake of time.

Love your blog! Totally agree with you that it's hard to find a balance between reading books and blog hopping, and I'm constantly working on my time management skills! Google Reader helps, but then I don't comment as much as I'd like. Need to win the lottery so I can read & blog hop all day! :)

Yes, yes, yes! I have the same thing happen to me when I innocently hop on the computer to quickly take a look at some blogs...then an hour is gone in a flash! I have got to find a way to balance my blog time...
p/s - I am now following you!!!

I found that I was reading lots of blogs and tons of books and NOT writing as much as I needed to. I try to make more time to write now. :)

Great blog - stopping by from the hop.
I too run into the problem of reading alot of other blogs. I have to keep one eye on the clock so I can be sure to get in my own reading time and studying for school as well!

I know just what you mean - a blogging hazard to spend hours visiting other sites. Talking of which, I saw your blog mentioned on Book Quoters site and here I am. Nice to meet you, I've enjoyed visiting.

I'm a single mom too, in school with 3 teenagers, 1 dog, 1 cat, 4 fish and 1 boyfriend...when I first started blogging and even still I jump from blog to blog reading and reading and joining with GF because I fall in love with so many ( like yours ~ it is so cool! fun and fresh! ) good luck finding that happy medium of blogging and reading...it's difficult ~ if you find the magic answer - do share!

Hi! You know, parenthood didn't hamper my reading but blogging and facebook sure did!

I really like to read and comment on the blogs I follow so usually only follow blogs that interest me-- but there are so many that do.

I can sit down planning to write a blogpost but get caught up in visiting and commenting on all my bloggy friends blogs-- then I'm too tired to write my own post!

Glad I'm not the only one with these issues.

:o)
