Blog Tour: Flirting with Fangs by Peg Pierson (Giveaway)

This virtual book tour is presented by Bewitching Book Tours.
Click HERE for more tour information.
Welcome to The Wormhole and my day on the tour.
It is my pleasure to feature:
Peg Pierson and Flirting with Fangs.

Peg Pierson is a full-fledged Fang Fanatic and slightly deranged Halloween Enthusiast, with a closet full of plywood coffins, an assortment of plastic dismembered body parts, and of course…skeletons.

Currently, she lives in Minnesota and is busily typing away on a new paranormal comedy. Along with vampires, she loves her family, pecan kringle, and a good laugh.

Flirting with Fangs
Peg Pierson

Vampire romance novelist Bailey Hamilton thinks her life is over. Her two-timing husband dumped her, she has a paralyzing case of writers’ block, and her big toe is bleeding.

Torin Kane, fictional Vampire Hero, is miserable. Chapter after chapter he has battled dragons, demons, and despicable villains, but his secret desire is to find true love and a tan.

With a twist of fate, their worlds collide. A magical teardrop summons Torin to life. And Bailey finds herself face to face, with quite literally, the man of her dreams….

Excerpt:
Bailey stared incredulously at the mirror. She saw her own tie-dye shirt, damp brown hair, and big blue eyes. She lifted moist palms to the fake Torin’s chest. So did her reflection.
Dumbstruck, Bailey watched in the mirror as her palms splayed the air like a mime caught in an invisible box. She could have picked her nose, stuck out her tongue, or popped a zit. And she would have been able to see it all just fine.
Because Bailey realized, in one earth-shattering, life changing moment, that the singing telegram guy was indeed a real vampire.
Not just any old vampire, but her vampire, Torin Kane, the dark warrior hero she had created from the deepest and most secret corners of her heart. The vampire she’d spent countless hours with over the last six years, bringing to life for herself and her fans, over and over again on the pages of her novels.
Trembling, Bailey took a step back. Her mind reeled. Heat swept her cheeks, and her stomach lurched.
Richard had broken her heart, and he was only a man. The knowledge of what could happen to her heart in the arms of Torin Kane, dark warrior, shook her to the core.
Because Torin wasn’t just a man…and he wasn’t just a vampire. He was quite literally, the courageous vampire hero of her dreams.

My thoughts:
Fantastic!  Original! I was hooked from the excerpt, but had no idea how wonderful the story truly would be.  The author is a craftsman of her trade.  I was thrilled with the world created for the "book characters."  The visual of a host of storybook characters sitting around awaiting the summons to their book is priceless.  The author is descriptive and the story plays through the mind like a movie.
The characters are fabulous.  Each one has been carefully thought out and cleverly created.    The plot is original and well done.  Reading Flirting with Fangs was refreshing and entertaining.

Giveaway:
Tour wide give away one print copy and 3 digital copies of Flirting with Fangs.

Book Release - Untimed by Andy Gavin

Welcome to The Wormhole!
I am pleased to announce a new book by Andy Gavin!

Untimed by Andy Gavin
About the book:

Charlie’s the kind of boy that no one notices. Hell, even his own mother can’t remember his name. And girls? The invisible man gets more dates.
As if that weren’t enough, when a mysterious clockwork man tries to kill him in modern day Philadelphia, and they tumble through a hole into 1725 London, Charlie realizes even the laws of time don’t take him seriously.
Still, this isn’t all bad. In fact, there’s this girl, another time traveler, who not only remembers his name, but might even like him! Unfortunately, Yvaine carries more than her share of baggage: like a baby boy and at least two ex-boyfriends! One’s famous, the other’s murderous, and Charlie doesn’t know who is the bigger problem.
When one kills the other — and the other is nineteen year-old Ben Franklin — things get really crazy. Can their relationship survive? Can the future? Charlie and Yvaine are time travelers, they can fix this — theoretically — but the rules are complicated and the stakes are history as we know it.
And there's one more wrinkle: he can only travel into the past, and she can only travel into the future!

Review: Luca's Magic Embrace by Kym Grosso

Luca's Magic Embrace: Immortals of New Orleans Book 2
by Kym Grosso

An erotic paranormal romance...
Sexy vampire, Luca Macquarie doesn't do love; especially not with humans. Yet, ever since he rescued Samantha Irving, he can't deny the enigmatic attraction he's developed for the alluring mortal woman. Concerned for her safety, he's determined to bring Samantha back to her coven. His mission is to go find the novice witch and bring her home, nothing more, nothing less; falling for her is not supposed to be part of the plan.

Samantha doesn't want to be a witch, yet that's exactly what she is. After failing to elicit her magic, she escapes to the mountains in an attempt to resume a semblance of her previous human life. When an arsonist torches her cabin, Samantha's worst fears are realized. Aware that her life is on the line, she reluctantly agrees to return to New Orleans with Luca.

In the Big Easy, Samantha and Luca embark on a spellbinding journey, searching for a mystical amulet that promises to release her obligation from an ancient, lethal vampire who's been threatening her life. With cryptic clues and clandestine allies, will Luca and Samantha destroy the dangerous amulet before others acquire it, setting forth a chain of catastrophic consequences? And will Luca give into his erotic desire for the witch who magically captures heart?

Warning:  This book contains several love scenes and is intended for adult readers.

My thoughts:
I loved Kade's Dark Embrace, which is book one of the Immortals of New Orleans by Kym Grosso so when I had the opportunity to read and review book two (I had been hoping it would be Luca's story!) I jumped at the chance.

I was as happy with book two as I was with book one.  The characters are fantastic.   I was excited to see that this story more or less picks up where book one ended, bringing the characters I loved from Kade's story into Luca's while adding new ones.  All the men are larger than life; all are willing to do whatever it takes to protect, save, get, have or keep whatever it is that they want or feel is theirs.  All the women are either strong, independent and powerful in their own right - or become so during the story.  It's as if Kym Grosso has created a range of characters in which everyone can see a bit of themselves or who they wanted to be, and a bit of the partner they have always searched for.

The world Kym Grosso has created is realistic and believable.  She has set her characters in New Orleans, which is perfect for supernaturals.  It is easy to see the beautiful, powerful vampires and others living in the Garden District in mansions supported by their immortality and the wealth they attain.  You can picture them with the moss draped trees and mystery and mystique that seems to go hand in hand with New Orleans.

The story is filled with steamy hot romance, powerful magic, betrayal, desire, deception, mystery, danger and love.  (For adult readers only).

The ending is a cliffhanger - but by the time you get to the ending, you are hoping for a glimpse into what book will be next because you don't want to leave the characters and the story behind.  Well worth the read - CANNOT wait for the next book.

(I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review).

Blog Tour: The Blood Bar Chronicles: The Protectors Book 2 (Giveaway)

This virtual book tour is presented by Bewitching Book Tours.
Click HERE for more tour information.
Welcome to The Wormhole and my stop on the tour.
It is my pleasure to feature:
The Blood Bar Chronicles: The Protectors Book 2
and a guest post from author Xandra James.

Thanks for having me here today!

My childhood has had a great effect on my writing. My grandmother was said to be psychic and there was always a healthy appreciation of the unexplained in my house. At least from my mum – she was always encouraging me to think outside the box. Books surrounded me and I was always encouraged to use my very vivid, and sometimes strange, imagination, LOL.

So, I'm pretty sure I was meant to be writing in the paranormal genre too, even if I only realized it a couple of years ago. Romance is a given for me as I've always loved a happy ending and I'm a soft touch for the L word ;). But paranormal romance was a surprise when it crept up on me. I never realized how much I would enjoy encouraging my creative juices to go to places I'd never considered before – and seemingly the world (and beyond) was no limit. It's strange how, when you look back at your life, you see all the little pathways that have brought you to this point, right at this moment.

I'm a great believer in everything happening for a purpose. I've pretty much lived my life to this so I'm pretty sure that all that reading of paranormal books in my youth, reading about different, mythical figures and their worlds, have helped me to write these heroes (and heroines) that bring my paranormal romances to life.
With Protecting His Own, I wanted to explore a completely different type of paranormal hero. I'm written about demons, Shadow's and a plain old human who falls in love with a succubus, but a gargoyle? No!

I love a challenge. And when Sam started to talk to me about his past and what he was capable of, I was hooked. I really had to search hard for a heroine that would torture him enough and, obviously, be perfect for him too. Nina is a little damaged around the edges but all she really wants is to feel again.

I hope you love the characters as much as I did. And know that I'll be using that vivid imagination to write more paranormal stories in the future ;)

About the Author:
Multi-published author, Xandra James, has always wanted to write romance books. Even when she was sneaking peaks at the hot bits, too young to fully appreciate them, she dreamt of writing her own.
Now, older and wiser, she's got the opportunity to project her slightly dark and wacky, British sense of humour onto others, whilst still writing the hot bits - bonus!

When not writing, Xandra is thinking of excuses as to why she shouldn't be doing the housework, looking after a husband and cats that refuse to pick up after themselves and climbing the mountain in her house that's affectionately called her tbr pile.

She currently holds the crown for Queen Procrastinator – something she's very proud of – so you can usually find her online, somewhere, when she really should be writing.
